Arctic Innovation week is a fantastic opportunity to inspire young minds and further engagement with real-life business opportunities and challenges facing the Arctic.
Innovation Camp during the Arctic Innovation Week 2023
On 17 October 2023, Arctic Frontiers brought together researchers, students, and business development experts to explore new ideas and opportunities for sustainable development in the Arctic during the ‘Innovation Camp’, implemented in collaboration with Ungt Entreprenørskap and UiT The Arctic University of Norway. The students were provided with a realistic business problem relevant to their study course in biotechnology and relevant for businesses in the Arctic. Dr. Magnus Drivdal from Akvaplan-niva introduced the business problem, and Solveig Ittelin from Ungt Entreprenørskap led the business idea development session. Following the introductions the students worked in groups to develop their own proposals. The process involved pitching their ideas to several stakeholders, receiving feedback, and improving on the plan. The final ideas were then presented before a jury, and the winning group will attend the 2024 Arctic Frontiers conference.
